| Welcome
to my website. My name is Patty and I am the owner of Pattyandthemoos.com.
This is the first time I have started a personal website and I hope
this will be fun.
About
me:
I am a 35 year old homeschooling mom to four kids. I have been married
to my husband Kelly for 12 years. We live in Michigan. Michigan
is not my home state but I really like it here. I am a photoshop
addict and a web designer. I am much better at Photoshop than web
design though. I spend a lot of time on the computer but I am not
really a computer geek. I am the cofounder of Justmommies.com.
I spend most of my time there.
Topics
that are close to my heart:
Preemies-
My son was born at 33 weeks, is vision impaired and has an autism
spectrum disorder. My heart goes out to any mom that has had to
deal with the birth of a premature baby.
Diabetes-
My nephew is diabetic and I have seen the heartache my nephew and
sister have gone through. People sometimes blow it off and do not
realize how serious and devastating it can be to have a child with
diabetes. I hope that there will be a cure for diabetes in my lifetime.
*Updated. My sister's other son was recently diagnosed with type
one diabetes as well. It has been very hard for her to cope with
having two children with diabetes. Please support research on diabetes.
Homeschooling-
We have just started homeschooling again. My two oldest were in
private school for a time but we withdrew them recently and are
back to homeschooling. I would like to make more homeschooling friends
and get more involved in the homeschooling community.
Breastfeeding-
I do not feel that breasteeding is the be-all end all of motherhood.
I will do my best to help any mom over come obstacles and offer
support and advice. Breastfeeding does not come easy for a lot of
moms and those are the ones that seem to get the least support.
Mental
Illness- This is a topic close to my heart as well. To
anyone that has had to deal with having a mental illness or a family
member that is mentally ill, my heart goes out to you. You are not
alone.
Encouraging
women to vote- I would like to have an influence on women.
I would like to see more women care about voting. If you are a woman,
take some time to learn about the voting process and get out there
and make your vote count!
(I
encourage you to vote in this election. It is going to be a very
close election and every vote is important. Look around at the candidates.
Read the issues and decide for yourself which candidate truly represents
you and the issues that matter most to you.)
